Under the auspices of the College of Pharmacy, the Women’s Affairs Division at the University of Basrah held its second annual central festival, under the slogan ((Women and Building Economic Development in Iraq)) on the occasion of International Women’s Day, in the presence of the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, the respected Professor Dr. Ali Rashk, and a number of deans and university leaders.

The festival included honoring women leaders at the University of Basrah with a leadership and excellence shield. Members of the Women’s Affairs Division’s liaison and women with special needs were also honored, and various scientific and cultural events were held.

The Director of the Division, Professor Wafaa Al-Mayahi, stated that the importance of holding this festival reflects the interest of the Women’s Affairs Division at the University of Basrah and its commitment to enhancing the role of women and encouraging them to participate actively in achieving economic development and progress in our dear country.
