Media of the Women's Affairs Division

The Women's Affairs Division at the University of Basrah held its regular meeting, headed by the Director of the Division, M.M. Wafa Hasaj Al-Mayahi, in the presence of members of the division, unit directors, and liaison members in the colleges.

The meeting discussed several topics, including changing the name of the division to “Women’s Affairs” based on the directives of the Women’s Empowerment Department in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The meeting also called for cooperation in supporting women at the university and discussing mechanisms for implementing the paragraphs of the ministry’s book related to women’s affairs. Several proposals were circulated, including holding development courses, establishing a sewing workshop for female students, and organizing a scientific trip for female students. The social and legal status of women with special needs at the university was also discussed.

In conclusion, the need to provide financial support to implement women's affairs programs was emphasized, as well as organizing a festival on International Women's Day.
